Black Stone Physical Medicine is located in beautiful Marion and Benton Counties OR. We are
expanding our staff and we are currently looking for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. As
the premier Pain and Physical Medicine Clinic in southern Willamette Valley, we are committed to
being the preferred provider of pain management services in the region. For over 10 years our team
has made a positive difference in the lives of our patients by providing exceptional pain care. As an
Advanced Practice Provider in our clinic each day you will improve the lives of patients suffering
from pain through the use of medical evaluation, treatment, and management strategies
characterized by excellence in patient services.

Currently two PA's, and one board certified pain management physician provide diagnostic and
therapeutic pain care. The APP is responsible for obtaining a patient's medical history, ordering and
interpreting radiological and medical tests, and implementing a plan of treatment in conjunction with
the physician. After sufficient training and experience our APP's work is essentially independent but
have immediate access to physician support when needed.

We offer a highly competitive salary and benefit package. Work hours are typically 8 - 5. APP's
generally do not work weekends, holidays or evening hours. No call coverage is expected. We have
an incredibly responsive support staff to improve patient satisfaction and assist you in all phases of
patient care. There is great potential to expand your skill set by adding injection techniques or

Location
We serve the Marion and Benton County areas including populations from Sweet Home,
Newport, Lincoln City, Albany Jefferson, Alsea, Siletz, Philomath, Junction City, & the Salem
area. The southern Willamette Valley provides an amazing array of recreational
opportunities, excellent schools, and entertainment. Property ownership is affordable and
diverse. The opportunity to live and work in a rural / suburban type community while just a
short drive to Eugene and downtown Portland makes our area very desirable for permanent
placement.

Job Duties
  • Responsible for diagnosing, developing, and implementing a plan of care for patients
    presenting to the clinic.
  • Performing physical examinations and obtaining, updating, and recording medical histories.
  • Completes appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered in the
    electronic medical record.
  • Makes appropriate referrals for consultations.
  • Provides counseling and patient education for recommended interventional procedures to
    patients and families.
  • Responds to telephone inquiries of patients in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care and
    treatment.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic test results.
  • Prescribes medications and therapies as appropriate.

Salary
  • We provide a salary and benefits that are equivalent to or exceed all other local clinics or
    health systems. We reassess this annually to remain competitive. Benefits are standardized
    but the initial salary package is customized based on your experience and work schedule.
  • If you are interested in pain management and appropriate procedure selection / performance
    this job will provide you excellent hours, work conditions and job satisfaction.
  • $120,000 to $150,000/ yr based on experience plus RVU bonus structure.
  • Competitive bonus structure in addition to the salary
  • Total compensation from $120,000 to $250,000

Requirements
Educational Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program
Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination certification or Nurse Practitioner exam.
Must be current with continuing medical education requirements.

Occupational Experience/ Personal Attributes
The employee must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior and this
information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and
chronological effects of pain. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an
understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
  • One to three years previous experience in a medical office desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and other clinic staff.
  • Possesses knowledge of medical terminology and ability to document appropriately in
    electronic medical record.
  • Knowledge of appropriate medical advice to offer patients and of the legal implications
    involved.
