Position Summary

Responsibilities
- Assess motor abilities and how they impact movement, play and participation in a variety of environments
- Use a coaching approach with families and team members to educate and implement therapeutic programs based on family goals
- Use Evidence Based Practice and Family Centered Practice to guide clinical reasoning
- Prescribe and assist families to obtain equipment to optimize participation
- Consult to caregivers, including family, preschools, daycares and schools
- Participate in staff meetings, case reviews, medical liaison meetings, and in-services.
- Maintain up to date records that meet agency and regulatory body requirements
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and community partners
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
- Master's degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
- Previous experience working in pediatrics is preferred
- Training in Motivational Interviewing and/or Brief Action Planning is an asset
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Practices physiotherapy in accordance with the International Classification of Function and F-words of childhood development with a commitment to inclusive practice and family centered care
- Strong collaborator who develops effective working relationships with others
- Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to adapt to change and embrace new technology
- Competency using a virtual platform, electronic client record system and word processing software
Working Conditions & Provisos
- Registration with CPTBC (includes Criminal Record Check)
- Valid BC driver's license with reliable use of a car for work with business insurance
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
