Position Description:

The Planning and Production Control Manageris responsible for the management of activities related to production control and planning/scheduling of products to support all production, repair, spare, prototype and site requirements for the Black Mountain NC. This position will be supervising indirect labor positions.

Essential Functions:
  • Leads the production control and planning/scheduling functions in the development of standards, methods, metrics, and processes to continuously improve delivery and efficiencies, reduce costs and maximize quality.
  • Provides metrics that accurately monitor performance of the functional area.
  • Creates and leads planning and scheduling strategies which optimizes the use of assets to meet/exceed sales and production schedules.
  • Coordinates department activities and works collaboratively with other functions including Contracts & Programs, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other company departments to achieve business objectives.
  • Monitors inventory availability and movement of materials, supplies and services to meet production and delivery schedules.
  • Work with Purchasing Manager to develop short- and long-range materials management programs to minimize inventory costs and meet schedule requirements.
  • Provide solutions for alternate plans in the event of unforeseen contingencies.
  • Evaluate inventory and production capacities and plans in relation to current and long-range commitments.
  • Prepare reports of order status, budget forecasts, inventory and production control activities as required.
  • As a team leader, holds members accountable for performance through clear direction and the use of fair and objective criteria. Provides routine feedback coaching for member development.

Education & Experience:
  • BA/BS required, Business Administration, Purchasing or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in progressively responsible roles in materials management or planning/scheduling roles required,
  • Experience in motion components and systems businesses for military/aerospace and commercial aircraft preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (IFS, SAP etc); and a demonstrated understanding of MRP and its output required.
  • APICs or Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Experience managing/leading others preferred.
  • Experience with Small Business Administration plan development and reporting preferred.
  • Experience with CPSR, DOD, FAR and/or DFAR requirements preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US, visa sponsorship not available.
  • Must be able to work on U.S. government programs and/or obtain security clearance in the future.


This position is located 100% onsite at our Black Mountain NC facility.
