Forsite is looking for a Planning Forester - Community Forestry with strong communication and project management skills to support our community forest clients in BC, with a current focus on the Logan Lake Community Forest.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
Operating within Forsite's Resource Stewardship Group, you will
- Develop progressive experience in the management of the Logan Lake Community Forest (LLCF),
- Support the overall governance of the LLCF including board meetings, strategic planning and related communications,
- Assist in the coordination of Forsite's teams in support of the LLCF and other community forests,
- Coordinate stakeholder & public engagement to support the goals of community forests,
- Support indigenous reconciliation for community forest clients and support the implementation of indigenous engagement and relationship building to meet strategic and operational goals,
- Coordinate and manage community forest planning projects including strategic timber planning, forest stewardship, access management, visual resource management, old growth management, watershed and wildfire restoration and climate change mitigation, and
- Support variety of other forest management planning projects being implemented for other clients.

WHO YOU ARE
- A safety conscious attitude
- Post-secondary education with a natural resource management focus
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in forest management planning and operations
- Registered or eligible to be registered as an RPF (BC)
- Experience in forest management and planning processes.
- Background in operational forest management and/or wildfire risk management would be an asset
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a project team environment
- Flexible with strong organizational and time management skills to with ability to work under pressure to meet targets; and
- Able to work with excellent attention to detail with work accuracy and quality.
