JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
This position leads the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and strategic analysis of the financial team. Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operation. Reviews analysis results, develops insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction, and leads strategic business decisions. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial functions of the company in accordance with business management techniques and best practices of a premier, privately owned dairy manufacturer. Oversight responsibilities include financial statement preparation, market-based risk management administration, milk pooling, milk pricing support, budget management, production and financial data analysis and collaborative support within the accounting and finance team.

This position manages direct reports and subordinate managers who supervise employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Accounting and Finance department.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technology.
Physical Demands
The physical demands for this position are mainly able to do sedentary work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will need to sit, stand, walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Base hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires up to 10% travel.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or a related field. 10-15 plus years in various management/leadership roles. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Education and Experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics accounting software. At least five years of experience in a similar role. Master's degree in accounting or related field. Bilingual in English/Spanish.

Essential Functions
- Lead the Accounting and Finance team by cultivating a high-performance environment and establishing clear roles, priorities, goals and holding people accountable for achieving results.
- Oversee accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial records are always maintained.
- Prepare departmental and companywide budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
- Create accurate and timely corporate financial statements by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Act as subject-matter expert, in the primary areas of responsibility listed above, by providing a high level of service and support to management and company leaders.
- Attract and develop the necessary talent to ensure the Accounting and Finance team is preprepared to meet future company needs.
- Work directly with CFO to arrange financing to meet the working capital and long-term capital needs of the company.
- Analyze company operations for opportunities to employ risk management practices, using futures markets, forward pricing, or other risk management tools.
