Job Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing overall plant operations to ensure profitability and the attainment of goals at the Hydro Remelt facility. This position reports to the General Manager of the region and involves formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Minimum of a BS Degree. MBA preferred Minimum a bachelor's degree, MBA preferred.
  • Eight to 10 years in a leadership role in a heavy manufacturing industry.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for plant production goals and for the coordination of plant operations within company policies and procedures, and work with HSE to develop and maintain a Safe work environment.
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizational goals - specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services (HR, IT and Finance), through improvement to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls.
  • Management of location budget in coordination with Plant Controller.
  • Maintain a clean and safe plant while meeting safety goals.
  • Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
  • Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production, and shipping.
  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
  • Drive initiative in the management team and organizationally that contribute to long-term operational excellence.
