Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily plant operations through direct reports and functional support areas, providing leadership to production managers, maintenance & engineering, materials and logistics, and production planning.
- Lead and develop direct reports while partnering with functional staff (finance, quality assurance, continuous improvement, health & safety, environmental, and human resources) to implement policies and procedures.
- The Plant Manager will be responsible for the implementation of Tyson Lean MOS across the entire facility.
- Set overall direction and priorities for manufacturing-related projects and Lean activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to labor, budget variance, productivity, and schedule adherence. Lead the management team in achieving the plant's cost savings goals and annual operating plan.
- Implement strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and drive continuous improvement in production and sanitation processes.
- Foster a safe and positive work environment that prioritizes employee safety, product quality, food safety, and strong employee relations using Lean and Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Promote positive community relationships through engagement with local government and community programs.
- Ensure compliance with all quality and food safety requirements, including state and federal regulations, to protect customers, consumers, and the company.
- Support talent development within the organization to prepare employees for future advancement opportunities.
- Enforce fair, consistent, and inclusive employment practices while ensuring legal and corporate compliance.
- Support the site in their Lean and digital transformational journey.
- Lead diagnostics and coordinate transformations where needed in Safety, People, Quality, Delivery and Cost, as well as capacity, engagement, asset care, maintenance, budgeting, and capital planning and spending.
- Partner with IT, Automation and other Enterprise teams to deploy standardized digital solutions.
- Collaborate and orchestrate highly innovative, multidisciplinary teams to drive LMOS problem solving methodology and standards processes.
- Contribute and be an active participant with FSQA, Safety, Environmental, Ops. Finance, Supply Chain, BU, Sales, Marketing, and all other relevant support teams.
- Demonstrated track record of both developing and executing innovative strategies to deliver outstanding top and bottom-line results.
- Proven ability to work cross- functionally to achieve transformational goals.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Prefer a 4-year degree and/or 5+ years of experience in Operations as a management leader in a manufacturing environment, along with experience in continuous improvement and change management. Food processing experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience at leveraging and implementing process and technology solutions in manufacturing environment.
- Recognized for one's ability to 'influence to impact' and communicate in a multilevel, multicultural environment.
- Data Driven and results oriented; strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong development, coaching, teaching, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and consensus building skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and a diplomatic ability to manage conflict.
- Team player with a positive attitude, high energy, and burgeoning enthusiasm.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- 20% or less travel expected.
- Must reside in the United States to be considered.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Internal Requirements:
- Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date)
- No written warning in the past six (6) months
- No suspension on record for the last 12 months
