Position Title: PLANT MANAGER
Location: San Antonio, Texas
FLSA Class: EXEMPT
Responsible to: Vice President of Stationary Power and Director of O&M

Position Summary: As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of our Permian region. VoltaGrid designs, owns, and operates gas processing and power generation equipment as a service. You will ensure the efficient and safe operation of the facility, including maintenance and equipment organization, as well as managing a team to meet the organization's goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures the safety of employees, contractors and public in all plant operations.
  • Prioritize and lead all day-to-day depot operations, including scheduling and technician shifts, supporting technicians with personal situations, staffing and employee relations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of all power plant equipment at the assigned facility.
  • Ensure the efficient utilization of space and resources within the facility.
  • Collaborates and is a partner with VoltaGrid's HSEQ to support, implement, and enforce safety procedures to maintain a secure and hazard-free working environment.
  • Conduct regular plant inspections to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, management, and external parties regarding the operating plant related matters.
  • Collaborate with peer managers to share personnel and resources to accomplish preventative and repair maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Remote Operations Center, and Subject Matter Experts to generate, review and complete Root Cause Analysis projects.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of Standard Operating Procedures & manufacturer service bulletins and coordinate the update of publications.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise plant staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Review Key Performance Indicators and metric data for trend analysis to identify leading and lagging indicators.
  • Responsible for auditing purchasing and subcontracting processes, on-site technicians, and time sheets.
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Review & audit performance of technicians and coordinators.

Other Requirements:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or science and management experience in the electric generation industry is desirable.
  • Position requires five years of managerial or supervisory experience with budgetary responsibility.
  • Must have a detailed understanding of electrical generation power plants, including startup, operations and maintenance of power plant equipment, budgeting, performance monitoring, personnel management and corporate/local area compliance.
  • Ten years' experience, with progressive increases in responsibilities, in startup, operations and maintenance of power plant equipment.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in operations for a new installation data center power facility with responsibility for a large workforce
  • Proven experience in facility management, with a strong track record of success using data for operation improvements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Support development of the newly created Stationary Power business line.
