Description:

Key Result Areas:
Oversee all Environmental Aspects including adherence to all legal reporting
(support of Dave Haney) and ISO 14001 programs (support of Mike Dugan)
Oversee all Health and Safety Aspects including adherence to all Vesuvius
Standards and QMS & EMS requirements.
Oversee the on-site Logistics Coordination for incoming and outgoing loads for
both Foundry & Flow Control
Oversee all Financial Aspects for Shared Site Services (Cost & Capital Projects)
and setup & review all allocations and methodology's.
Advise on all Engineering Aspects of Equipment and Improvement (Capitals &
Future Planning).
Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe plant.
Establish and direct plant policies and procedures.
Responsible for plant production goals.
Establish and maintain a positive community relationship.
Foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
Confer with department heads to ensure coordination of purchasing, production,
and shipping.
Select and train plant supervisory and administrative staff.
Conduct employee performance reviews.
Schedule and conduct plant meetings.
Responsible to meet productivity and quality goals for the plant.
Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Manage the operational and fiscal activities of the department to include: staffing
levels, budgets, and financial goals.
Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and
efficiency of the plant.
Analyze and document processes and problems. Develop solutions to enhance
efficiencies.
Coordinate and implement solutions from process analysis and general
department projects.
Direct staff in the development, analysis, and preparation of reports.
Coach and provide career development advice to staff.
Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.
Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities
Provide support as Plant Manager for the designated product line group, which
includes:
Sets, Monitors, and Drives Corrective Action for all Manufacturing Goals, Targets, &
Key Performance Indicators & Processing Measures.
Oversees all Manufacturing Costs and Allocation methodology's for the Flow Control
product lines.
Drives continuous improvement, efficiency gain, cost reduction, processing capability
Improvement through direction. delegation, and team leadership.
Fosters a safety and continuous improvement culture through employee
development, mentoring, & employee involvement.
Miscellaneous:
Cost Accounting Split out.
Cost Routing and Standards Update
Margin & Cost Analysis
Vesuvius Database Management & Updates
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work may involve
lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds. Working in this environment requires
the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing
protectors, work boots, and hardhats.

Qualifications:
BS degree in Ceramics Engineering/Material Science or Business field preferred or
equivalent work experience.

Experience:
Direction of plant operations requires 7 plus years' of manufacturing experience
preferably in a refractory or metals environment and advanced managerial
experience including direction of both union and non-union hourly and professional
employees.

Knowledge:
Continuous improvement knowledge including Lean manufacturing preferred.
Knowledge of Vesuvius manufacturing practices preferred.
Knowledge of refractory is required.

This is a highly visible position and the incumbent's expertise will be challenged while
interacting with senior management as well as a wide range of business unit leaders
within the Flow Control NAFTA division.
