Position Summary & Objective
The Plant Manager will direct manufacturing operations through a team of functional supervisors and group leaders. Responsible for the P&L, management, and leadership of all plant operations to ensure a safe work environment, production goals & efficiencies, high quality products, and increasing levels of customer and team member satisfaction.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Lead the Environmental, Health & Safety efforts to ensure complete adherence to legal, regulatory, and company policies. Lead plant EHS continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and implement lean programs throughout the manufacturing site to improve safety, quality, schedule attainment, efficiencies, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead programs to identify and eliminate waste utilizing lean tools throughout all manufacturing processes.
- Develop and implement a TPM program to support all manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement and team member involvement utilizing the company's Core Values and Leadership Traits.
- Provide leadership for team member relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Provide problem solving leadership using root cause analysis, countermeasure, and verification of effectiveness techniques and tools.
- Execute daily/weekly/monthly production plans to support on-time delivery and financial performance metrics.
- Develop KPI's to metrics for all departments within the production environment.
- Manage processes that support metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Develop capital budget with financial justifications and lead implementation of approved capital investments and improvement projects.
- Develop and implement a manufacturing strategic plan.
- Develop and implement a maintenance and facilities operating plan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Job shop knowledge/experience in metal machining and assembly operations.
- Strong machining knowledge with CNC and manual boring mills, and vertical and horizontal lathes.
- Strong assembly knowledge related to rebuilding large machinery.
- Strong knowledge and application of Operational Excellence and lean tools in an engineering and manufacturing business.
- Analytical and critical thinking capabilities paired with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proven problem solver utilizing root cause analysis, countermeasures, and verification for effectiveness techniques.
- Excellent project and program management skills.
- Experience implementing manufacturing strategy.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate across all levels of an organization.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent job experience.
- Minimum of 10 years management experience in a heavy manufacturing environment required.
- Familiar with MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) business.
Environment and Working Conditions
- Shop environment and office environment.
Travel Requirements (percent)
- Up to 25%
