Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for all business operations at our Wentzville, MO site. The Plant Manager will have direct client interaction and management oversight regarding Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, Human Resources, Compliance, and Customer Satisfaction. They will oversee 325+ employees and be responsible for the P&L (profit and loss). This role reports to the General Manager.

Full-time, Exempt. Schedule flexibility for extended or unplanned work hours is required, as is on-call availability.
Travel
Some travel between North American locations may be required.

Essential Functions

- Manages all aspects of the site to provide an environment that promotes high-quality customer service to internal and external customers. Customer-facing responsibility for commercial discussions, client interaction for customer satisfaction, and overall relationship building with the customer.
- Oversee and direct communication with the customer to address complaints and concerns, resolve problems, and escalate issues as required.
- Responsible for developing and implementing all operational plans.
- Responsible for ensuring that all company and customer requirements are met, including but not limited to all KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), safety, productivity, new process introduction, quality, and customer service.
- Responsible for the overall financial management of the operation.
- Partners with senior leadership to determine and submit the annual operating budget.
- Responsible for site expenditures, including but not limited to payroll, building maintenance, and requests for capital. This includes the cost of performance for the site P&L at both the external warehouse and customer in-plant operations,
- Responsible for site compliance with company policies, procedures, and associate programs, such as safety, productivity, quality, and employee relations. Ensure all levels of site management consistently enforce company policies on the managed workforce, abiding by union contracts when applicable.
- Coach, develop, and empower direct reports to help drive company objectives. Train and influence leaders to improve employee engagement while instilling the company culture.
- Execute coaching and feedback to maximize employee performance and motivate employees to create a positive work environment.
- Monitor and advise management regarding operational and strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and provide leadership development opportunities for managers and associates.
- Ensure the site exceeds customer expectations regarding cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
- Monitor, measure, and report the performance of direct employees. Create and administer performance reviews as prescribed by company practice.
- Review, modify, and implement operational activities that eliminate waste, ensure compliance with local and federal laws, and improve the business's overall operation.
- Ensure consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the site.
- Drive, enhance, and ensure safety compliance. Collaborate with corporate safety resources to execute and maintain safety initiatives and improvements.
- Deliver best operational practices and cost efficiencies across the site while maintaining critical quality standards for customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Review, modify, and implement operational activities that eliminate waste, ensure compliance to local and federal laws, and improve the overall operation of the business.
- Monitor, measure, and report the performance of direct employees while completing performance reviews as prescribed by company practice.
- Drive and deliver safety improvements across the plant. Partner with corporate safety resources to implement and sustain safety improvements and initiatives.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field is required. Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in key leadership and management roles within manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environments leading large teams.
- Must have experience working in a unionized environment, with a proven understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), including their development, negotiation, and implementation.
- Demonstrated experience managing grievance procedures, effectively resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with union protocols.
- Proven expertise in arbitration processes, including preparation, representation, and resolution.
- A track record of fostering strong, collaborative relationships with union representatives to maintain positive and productive labor relations.
- Experience developing budgets and managing a P&L.
- Ability to create and complete comprehensive reports directly impacting business performance.
- Previous experience with implementing best practices and using Continuous Improvement methods such as Six Sigma, 5-S, and Lean Manufacturing. Six Sigma and/or Lean Certification preferred.
- Must have strong technical skills and operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Working knowledge of an ERP (SAP, Great Plains, Dynamics, etc.) and Warehouse Management Systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and proven safety record.
- Knowledge of ISO quality systems.
- Proven experience working with Human Resources in a shared services environment.
