RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

Operational Excellence
Ensure consistent production of product through documented procedures and process conditions.
Ensure that all associates receive proper training for operating equipment within standard procedures and conditions and safety and housekeeping practices.
Provide leadership, supervision, support to all Plant Employees
Ensure maximum efficiency of manpower and equipment.
Match production schedule to forecast
Work with Human Resources to ensure proper staffing levels including submitting requisitions, interviewing candidates. Main point of contact with local temporary staffing agencies.
Planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Operate the plant within all applicable statutory requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc).
Develop and maintain working relationships with master scheduler, supply chain, customer service, finance department and other plant associates. Track plant output, staff productivity, overtime and product quality.
Create/review production schedules and communicate any issues with meeting customer requirements
Maintain appropriate par stock of raw materials, shipping containers and finished goods.
Record all manufacturing activity in ERP system.

Analyze data in ERP business information system related to KVI's. Compile reports as requested.

Miscellaneous
To support the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
Ensure all associates and contract personnel observe applicable Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental rules and guidelines. The use of appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
Attend and participate in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position.
Adhere to company operating procedures, rules, employment, safety and quality policies.
Actively participate in CLEAN initiatives and culture.
Any other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE OR TRAINING PREFERRED:

Competent / comfortable with use of information technology including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
Prior success using ERP system (i.e. ABAS, MRP, MRPII, Process Control)
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a four year college. (Major in Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences, Business preferred) or 5 + years of experience in manufacturing plant operations.
LEAN manufacturing knowledge
Ability to manage complex projects as needed
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. Ability to influence and motivate others
Prior experience successfully managing teams of associates
