Job Summary
RIT is looking for a Platform Engineer III to join the Information & Technology Services (ITS) Platform Systems team, where we manage and support the university's server platforms, driving infrastructure automation, and devops automation to empower the entire RIT community. In this role you will work on emerging AI platforms and technologies and collaborate to support their adoption across the university. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance RIT's platform infrastructure.
- Work with developers, faculty, and staff to support, build, and deploy AI solutions and platforms for the university. This could include providing web platforms to run custom code, to implementing AI solutions in M365 or Azure.
- Develop and support a team approach to supporting new services and technologies within the systems team.
- Utilize Azure services to optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Ansible and Terraform to automate deployment and management.
- Manage and maintain the Universities' central Active Directory infrastructure
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Azure services and cloud technologies.
- Hands-on expertise in infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform).
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
- Familiarity with both Windows and Linux environments.
- Practical experience in operating and designing Active Directory Domain Services and associated technologies such as Kerberos, Group Policy and LDAP.
