Job Summary

Responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging of new and existing software systems and/or applications.

Essential Job Duties
  • Serve as technical expert on development projects.
  • Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.
  • Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed.
  • Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
  • Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs.
  • Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
  • Support application testing, deployment, maintenance, and activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding application enhancements.
  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain SQL, PLSQL packages for large-scale projects using hybrid agile, iterative SDLC methodology
  • Write and execute unit test cases for the PL/SQL stored procedures/packages
  • Debug, optimize, and performance tune SQL, PLSQL packages for improving performance
  • Work with Application Development team to enhance the code base of PL/SQL packages to fix production issues and/or build new functionality
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure the code written complies with company and client standard and best practices and provide improvement feedback to developers
  • Review Linux shell scripts, Windows scripts and make necessary changes required for the process
  • Assure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported area
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Control-M, Cron etc. is a plus
  • Understating of users, privileges, securities, backup and restore.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with systems development and support
  • Expertise using Oracle PL/SQL Stored Procedures and Oracle 10g/11
  • Proficiency or familiarity with PRO*C, SQL Plus, SQL Loader, SQL Navigator or Toad
