Job Title: Plumbing Engineer (MEP)

Location: Missouri City, Texas

Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented Plumbing Engineer (MEP) to join our dynamic team in the Missouri City area of Houston. This role involves designing and implementing plumbing, water supply, drainage, and wastewater systems for commercial and industrial properties. The ideal candidate will work on diverse, large-scale projects, collaborating closely with other professionals to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and design plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and wastewater infrastructure, while adhering to applicable codes and standards.
  • Produce detailed schematics, technical drawings, and system specifications using software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
  • Calculate pipe sizes, flow rates, and pressure losses to optimize system efficiency.
  • Choose and specify plumbing fixtures, equipment, and materials for a variety of applications.
  • Integrate plumbing designs into large and complex facilities, such as hospitals, manufacturing plants, and data centers.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations, including IPC, UPC, NFPA, ASPE, and OSHA safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to address challenges and coordinate design efforts.
  • Oversee installation processes, perform site inspections, and resolve issues during construction.
  • Implement innovative, sustainable solutions such as water conservation methods and renewable energy integration.
  • Prepare accurate project estimates, budgets, and schedules for plumbing-related work.
  • Research and recommend cutting-edge technologies to improve system performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing plumbing systems for commercial or industrial projects.
  • Expertise in using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, plumbing regulations, and fire protection standards.
  • Experience working with high-pressure piping, industrial drainage, and large-scale plumbing systems.
  • Ability to evaluate project feasibility, conduct compliance checks, and assess risks effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a high-demand environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with LEED certification processes or sustainable design practices.
  • Experience in specialized systems, including medical gas, steam piping, or process water systems.
  • Background knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows and practices.

Note: This position does not require a Professional Engineer (PE) license, nor is it necessary to be pursuing one.
