The City of Lakeville is one of the fastest growing cities in Minnesota, and the largest within Dakota County, with an estimated population of over 73,000. The Lakeville Police Department serves a diverse community, encompasses three school districts, and boasts a thriving business landscape - which ensures a variety of law enforcement experiences.
In 2026, the City of Lakeville will open its doors to a brand new state-of-the-art training center. The FiRST Center (First Responder Skills Training Center) will contain two shooting ranges and a 100-person capacity classroom. In addition, the training center will also have a defensive tactics room, virtual reality room and a two-level tactical training room. The Lakeville Police Department will have primary access to this facility.
Students currently enrolled in a Law Enforcement program will be considered.
All candidates must be POST licensed or eligible to be licensed by July 1, 2027.
