Role Summary:
Support Regional Senior Manager of Port Operations (NA West Coast) in overseeing container port operations across West Coast ports, encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, supplier management, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. This includes coordinating with port terminals, port and local authorities, other key stakeholders, and vendors to ensure smooth and efficient operations, while contributing to strategic planning, operational execution, and service quality initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Representing ONE at industry events, related meetings, committees, and client engagement opportunities such as service reviews and port tours.
- Develops and communicates complicated messages and recommendations in clear, concise, and compelling ways to internal and external parties.
- Acts as a liaison between internal departments (e.g., operations, sales, finance) and port vendors to establish efficient processes and to ensure high service quality.
- Drives maximum service quality improvements by collaborating with suppliers, leveraging KPIs, and implementing process enhancements.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with industry stakeholders, vendors, and suppliers.
- Proactively identifies and addresses both one-off and trending service quality concerns in an effective manner.
- Regularly coordinates and leads meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss service needs, with detailed agendas, completing documented meeting outcomes, and track action items to completion.
- Collaborates with regional and central teams to address operational challenges and mitigate their impact on costs and customer service.
- Responsible for cost control, cost savings and fiscal analysis.
