The Systematic Equity Solutions Team develops and manages over USD$50B in both passive and value-added factor-based active systematic equity & commodities strategies. We are seeking a portfolio manager/senior investment analyst to work with our existing portfolio managers and analysts to develop, monitor and trade our passive and active systematic strategies within the context of their individual investor objectives.
This position will be based out of Toronto or Boston.
Accountability:
As a Director/Portfolio Manager on the Global Systematic Equity Solutions Team, the individual will be jointly responsible with the rest of the portfolio management team for the risk monitoring, trade structuring, and implementation processes across 100+ passive and systematic active equity accounts. In addition, the successful candidate will also partner in the development and evolution of the team's objective oriented systematic active equity strategies.

Salary range is expected to be between
$129,000.00 USD - $218,000.00 USD

Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with portfolio managers and investment analysts to ensure that portfolio construction methodologies are practical and meet mandate objectives
- Generate and analyze return/risk attribution for existing and prospective portfolios
- Actively contribute to systematic equity research and portfolio construction conversations
- Participate in activities involved in developing new systematic equity strategies and implementing appropriate investment processes
- Develop, run, and maintain back-tests and forward simulations, where applicable
- Develop, maintain, and enhance processes that support ongoing funds management
- Support marketing and distribution efforts with respect to investment process rationale, portfolio characteristics, and return/risk attribution analysis
- Provide support for strategic initiatives and other ad hoc projects as required
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:
- Degree (advanced degree preferred) in business/finance, financial engineering, mathematics, or other applied sciences
- 7-10 years of asset management experience, including experience with equity/derivatives trading and with passive and systematic active equity strategies
- Self-starter with an ability to juggle competing priorities and work under pressure to meet demanding response times, while paying strict attention to detail
- Strategic thinker with strong intellectual curiosity and a creative lens toward investment process improvement
- Strong team player, as well as an independent thinker. Excellent interpersonal skills to support relationships across the company and with industry partners
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial derivatives (commodities experience a plus)
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Experience modeling in code-based statistical applications such as MatLab, R, Python, etc. is a plus
- Broad familiarity with data and analytic systems such as FactSet or Bloomberg
- Experience with optimization and risk analytic systems such as those offered by MSCI Barra, Northfield, or Axioma
