DUTIES:
1. This position will serve as a flexible project resource, performing validation, power electronics
development, and power electronics software controls development as required for project goals.
2. Validation testing and system certification such as board bring up, test design, power electronics
testing, software testing, HALT, and compliance listing tests.
3. Overall power stage analysis, implementation, and validation including:
a. Power semiconductor design and validation.
b. System thermal management.
c. EMI filter design.
d. Isolation system design for sensing and communications.
e. Magnetics specification, design, and implementation.
f. Safety circuits such as ground fault detection, insulation monitoring, and Arc detection.
4. Responsible to participate in embedded software design efforts throughout the full product life cycle, ensuring timely delivery of reliable and feature rich products.
5. Coordinate directly between hardware, embedded software, application software, quality, reliability, and manufacturing teams to understand, correct, and eliminate complex electronics failure modes; Plan and execute root cause analysis of failures and timely execution of appropriate reaction plans
6. Perform timing and memory analysis for high performance control system implementations.
7. Assist on hardware and software FMEA analysis.
8. Design for cost targets, design for test and manufacturability.
9. Provide outstanding documentation of validation and design activities.
10. Assist on special customer service projects as needed.
11. Additional duties may be assigned, as business circumstances require.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Solid knowledge and at least 3 years working experience of power electronics, experience with
inverters is desired.
2. Knowledge of classical control theory and scientific computing.
3. Experience in design of electronics based systems, including schematics, circuit simulation, PCB
layout, testing, and troubleshooting skills.
4. Knowledge of mechanical/thermal/packaging design for industrial electronics.
5. At least 2 years of working experience on embedded software development for controls.
6. Proficient in C/C++, real time system design including RTOS.
7. Ability to understand complex designs and failure modes with software/hardware interactions.
8. Understanding and work experience of software quality assurance and software testing
principles and standards.
9. Minimum 1 year experience in software and hardware testing for power electronics systems.
10. Direct experience with safe operation and testing of high power (up to 1.5MW) and high voltage
(up to 600VAC, 1500VDC) equipment is a plus.
11. Product agency certification for UL, CE, FCC, etc. is a big plus.
12. Must have strong computer skills, ability to use design tools, system debuggers, programmers,
word, excel, power point, databases, web interfaces, etc.
13. Attention to detail, self-driven as a team member.
14. Strong sense of schedule driven design, feature/effort trade efforts, and design for reliability.
15. Ability to work as a leader or individual contributor, depending upon assignment.
16. Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude required.
17. Excellent interpersonal skills. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
18. Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Education/Experience:
BSEE with 3 or more years' professional experience. OR
MS with 1 or more years' professional experience. OR
MS with 0 years, and direct relevant Master's work on Power Electronics or Power Controls OR
PH.D with 0 years, and direct relevant thesis work on Power Electronics or Power Controls
