Multiquip is looking for a highly skilled and driven Power Generation Applications Manager to join our Product and Engineering group. This role is part of the Product & Engineering Group, focusing on product success, development, and customer experience within the mobile power generator sector. The ideal candidate will have in-depth expertise in generator applications, including design, layout, and commissioning of temporary power systems at jobsites and facilities.

This is a hybrid position and will be based at out of our corporate office in Cypress, CA, with up to 50% travel to customer sites and other company locations. This role draws from various industry disciplines and trades such as project estimator, electrical estimator, project manager, and generator technician. The role requires technical knowledge, jobsite application experience, and at times creative out-of-the box thinking to ensure that products meet customer needs while driving innovation and continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities:
  • Customized Product Design & Estimation
    • Collaborate with sales to determine customer needs and provide ideas that meet their requirements.
    • Utilize and adapt past customized design to meet requirements and specifications
    • Innovate with new ideas and designs in order to meet requirements and specifications
    • Determine costs and pricing.
  • Bid reviews and responses
    • Review RFP and RFQ from Municipalities to determine relevance and level of participation.
    • Provide responses to bid packages
  • Project Management:
    • Lead the project: Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to see ideas and concepts to reality; Ensuring timeliness and quality of final product
  • Applications Expertise for Customer Projects
    • Research existing internal documentation and external resources in order to provide answers to product questions relating to jobsite applications.
    • Ensure the correct generator is selected to reliability through industry standard calculation methods.
    • Collaborate with our technical field services and the customer application specialists to design projects.
    • Provide support for escalated application-related questions and issues from our call center.
    • Assist sales teams with complex technical and application questions and discussions.
    • Recommend products best suited for customer applications and define project scopes.
  • Product Improvement Collaboration
    • Work with the team to align product decisions with industry trends and customer needs.
    • Identify application requirements, product limitations, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Recommend product changes based on customer feedback and application performance.
    • Validate new products and product changes through collaboration with design and engineering teams.
    • Collaboratively review product issue reports to determine agreed upon courses of action and resolution.
    • Collaborate in reviewing product manuals and documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.

  • Qualifications
    • Strong technical background in generator controllers or similar systems.
    • Experience in power generation products and applications.
    • Experience in customer-facing roles, including technical discussions and troubleshooting.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and literacy skills
    • Able to effectively and safely performing tasks at jobsites and in production environments.
    • Ability to utilize task and project management tools.


    Compensation and Benefits:
    • Base salary of $90,000 - $120,000 + annual bonuses
