What You'll Be Doing
- Design Integration: Oversee the design, integration, and validation of Solar Stik's energy and power systems, supporting installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, sales, and other cross-functional teams to define system requirements, ensure seamless component integration, clearly articulate system requirements, and deliver customer-focused designs.
- System Architecture: Develop and document overall system architecture and implementation.
- Technical Analysis: Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems associated with system-level design and integration with system components and their performance.
- Performance Optimization: Design and evaluate systems to optimize performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Design Validation: Develop processes and testing to validate system functionality and overall performance.
- Timeline Management: Manage and forecast project timelines, ensuring adherence to schedules/milestones and driving projects to successful completion.
- Documentation Management: Create, update, and maintain detailed system requirements, specifications, and design documentation.
- Change Order Implementation: Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to ensure proper documentation and adherence to processes.
- Compliance Assurance: Verify system adherence to applicable industry and safety standards.
- Process Improvement: Support the development and refinement of internal processes to improve systems engineering efficiency.
- Technical Guidance: Provide expert-level support to production, operations, and customer service teams.
- Travel As Needed: Willingness to travel as required.
- Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the systems engineering team, including but not limited to additional tasks or special projects.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited institution.
- Experience: 7+ years progressive experience in systems engineering or integrator roles, ideally in energy, electrical, power, and/or manufacturing environments. 5+ years proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and projects.
- Required Skills:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret high-level project specifications and translate them into actionable design development.
- High-level experience in test plan development and data analysis.
Preferred Skills
- Master's Degree in applicable Engineering discipline, or Business Administration.
- Experience designing solar/hybrid power systems.
- Experience with ECO processes, prototype testing, and embedded software.
- Proficiency in SysML, MBSE, or system modeling tools.
- Proficiency in UL, NFPA 70: NEC, IEC, ANSI, and military standards.
- Familiarity with EMI/RFI and their mitigation.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to 35 pounds independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to lift and move items exceeding 50 pounds when necessary.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise and temperature variations.
