Description
Working closely with local and global colleagues across Development, Investments and Power Markets, the Origination Director will play a key role in developing and delivering the power marketing strategy and leading the offtake origination activity in the US.
As part of the global PPA team, this role will lead the sourcing, structuring and negotiation of electricity offtake contracts in the US to maximise value creation for the development pipeline of wind, solar and battery storage assets and be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with customers across the US and identify opportunities for the wider business.
The role will be based in Cubico's Austin office, reporting to the Global Director of PPA Origination.

The role will be based in Cubico's Austin office, reporting to the Global Director of PPA Origination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop the power sales strategies in collaboration with the Origination and Development team.
- Develop and maintain relationships across the US with various stakeholders, including commodity traders, corporate and industrial businesses, brokers and utilities in both regulated and unregulated markets.
- Originate, structure and negotiate revenue contracts, including power, renewable energy credits (RECs), capacity, and ancillary services.
- Provide market intelligence updates and monitor energy market trends, including staying informed on emerging contract structures, TSO rules, and market fundamentals.
- Handle project management and responses to RFPs, offer pricing, and coordinate with relevant teams.
- Optimize power revenue streams in collaboration with investment teams and financing partners.
- Review operating facility budgets and participate in long-term planning exercises.
- Engage with the other regional teams to ensure global relationships are covered and leveraged appropriately and knowledge shared appropriately.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience in the origination, structuring and negotiation of offtake agreements in the U.S. market, including both physical and financial contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of different offtake contracts and structures including ISDA, WSPP, busbar offtake, floors, and collars.
- Strong understanding In-depth knowledge of US renewable markets and regulations for Wind, Solar and Storage.
- Established network of offtake counterparties in regulated and unregulated US power markets.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across cultures.
- Strong commercial acumen and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and maintain high standards.
