Description:

Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated, and creative communications professional to join our Operations External Public Relations team to support Amazon's Prime Air delivery drone program.

To be successful in this role, the right candidate will have strong media relations acumen for both proactive campaigns and reactive issues, the ability to work at internet-speed, a creative mindset to develop, create, and deliver paid, earned, and owned campaigns, and a talent for collaboration and working independently. This individual will have experience delivering results with high standards under tight deadlines, strong writing abilities, and exceptional initiative. Creativity and flexibility are a must.

Key job responsibilities
Develop and manage the execution of proactive external media engagement programs for Amazon's Prime Air program
Research and integrate industry news, trends and compelling angles into PR programs
Write, develop, and manage approvals for news announcements, blog posts, and related media materials for Amazon's Prime Air network
Successfully manage complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges
Build and maintain relationships with key top tier national media
Effectively represent Amazon as a spokesperson

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience

- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Exemplary written and oral communications skills

- Exercise high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes

- Think and communicate clearly - the ability to formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it

- Develop creative, effective approaches to difficult communications challenges

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

- Team player who is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done

- Creativity and the ability to develop fresh concepts for generating media coverage

- Pay painstaking attention to important details

- Ideally having worked for public relations or public affairs agency on diverse reputational issues

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
