Job Summary
  • The Director of Practice, VR is a key member of AVI-SPL's Systems Integration Line of Business Group, responsible for managing all strategic aspects of real-time design, virtual reality, and previsualization-focused technology disciplines. This role is centered on developing and managing the VR technology practice to maximize revenue streams, profitability, and operational readiness.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish the company as a global leader in VR, previsualization, and real-time design technologies.
  • Define, establish, and manage a Practice Management Strategy in collaboration with other Practice Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents to ensure alignment across all practices.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Virtual Designers supporting customer-facing opportunities and internal initiatives.
  • Work with Business Development Managers to leverage inbound opportunities from partners, platforms, and other sources.
  • Oversee a pipeline of opportunities from initiation through response, collaborating with Account Managers and sales leaders.
  • Engage with key clients, assisting Global Strategic Accounts, Regional Sales teams, and other business units to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the effectiveness of sales teams in promoting VR and previsualization solutions.
  • Create and maintain repeatable solutions that improve sales velocity, executed margins, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define and evolve technology service solutions.
  • Provide technical training and enablement for internal teams, ensuring proficiency in VR and previs technologies.
  • Manage internal VR technology assets, including demo gear, sandbox environments, and proof-of-concept developments.
  • Drive innovation by developing bespoke technology solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Lead special projects as needed.

Education and / or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in technology strategy, VR development, or previsualization tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in the AV, collaboration, or simulation industries (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in AV system design, consulting, or interactive visualization (preferred).
  • ITIL Foundations certification or equivalent is required (ITIL Expert preferred).
  • AVIXA CTS certification or equivalent is required.

Technical Skills
  • Previsualization (Previs) Expertise - Experience using previs tools to create immersive, real-time environments for design validation and storytelling is preferred.
  • 3D Modeling & Rendering - Proficiency in CAD, Blender, SketchUp, Maya, Enscape, Twinmotion, and Modus VR for developing interactive and photorealistic experiences.
  • Integration with AV Systems - Knowledge of audio-visual system design, signal flow, and control systems for AV design and space planning.

This pay range represents the base salary for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, and location.
