The President will lead the company in the management of its cattle operations, including cow-calf operation, cattle purchasing, herd health, grazing, feed programs, and sales. The role requires a strong business acumen, experience in the cattle industry, and exceptional leadership skills to drive operational excellence and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Essential Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
- Develop & Execute Strategy: Lead the development of the company's long-term business strategy, with a focus on growth, market expansion, and profitability.
- Industry Trends & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in cattle management and meat production, integrating innovative solutions to improve operations.
- Corporate Governance: Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors or ownership to align business goals, objectives, and reporting requirements.
Operations Management
- Cattle Operations: Oversee daily cattle operations including feeding, health management, grazing, and livestock movement, ensuring optimal productivity and animal welfare.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Manage logistics related to feed procurement, transportation, and slaughterhouse operations. Ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of products from farm to market.
- Sustainability: Champion environmentally sustainable practices in cattle raising, ensuring responsible land and water use, as well as reducing the carbon footprint of operations.
Financial Oversight
- Budgeting & Financial Management: Develop and manage company budgets, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. Ensure the financial health and profitability of the company.
- Cost Control: Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiencies without sacrificing product quality.
- Capital Investment: Oversee investments in equipment, infrastructure, and technology that will enhance company productivity and long-term value.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead & Mentor Teams: Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to senior management and field staff. Cultivate a high-performance team culture based on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Associate Recruitment & Retention: Attract, retain, and develop top talent within the organization. Ensure talent is trained and skilled in key areas such as animal husbandry, safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Health & Safety: Implement and uphold workplace health and safety standards to ensure the well-being of associates and compliance with relevant regulations.
Sales, Marketing & Customer Relations
- Market Positioning: Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance the company's brand and market presence, promoting high-quality products to buyers, distributors, and retailers.
- Customer Relationships: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including distributors, suppliers, and clients. Understand market demand to anticipate customer needs and maintain a competitive edge.
- Negotiations: Oversee high-level negotiations with buyers, suppliers, and service providers, ensuring favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including animal welfare standards, environmental laws, and food safety requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate business risks related to cattle and commodity pricing, weather events, and operational disruptions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degrees (MBA or similar) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in the agricultural or livestock industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership position in cattle operations or a related field.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the cattle industry, including animal husbandry, feedyard operations, livestock markets, and sustainable farming practices.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial and analytical skills with experience in budget management, forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams. Experience with strategic planning, decision-making, and conflict resolution.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
Work Conditions & Environment
- Location: Primarily based at the company's headquarters with regular visits to farm and ranch operations, as well as travel to meet with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Physical Demands: Occasional travel to remote or rural sites, sometimes requiring long hours and physically demanding conditions.
