Your top priority as a Pricing Analyst is to be responsible for ensuring category pricing strategies align with company goals and business initiatives. This role serves as the key partner for Northern Tool's Merchandising team, managing margin rates across regular, promotional, and clearance pricing to optimize profitability and competitiveness. Your positive, professional, roll-up-your-sleeves-to-help attitude contributes to our winning culture and makes sure we leave a lasting impression.

Key Responsibilities:

Competitive Analysis & Data Management

Collects and validates external pricing data from multiple sources to ensure accurate competitive positioning.

Provides competitive pricing reports to Merchant partners, recommending strategic actions aligned with category objectives.

Pricing Strategy & Execution

Conducts weekly margin reviews, delivering insights and recommendations for pricing adjustments across regular, promotional, and clearance price points.

Identifies opportunities for pricing optimization to enhance margin performance while maintaining competitive positioning.

Models sales and margin impacts associated with pricing scenarios and collaborates with Merchandising teams to implement strategies.

Data-Driven Decision Making

Utilizes existing analytical tools to generate customized pricing reports and insights based on business needs.

Acts as a strategic consultant on new item pricing, supplying competitive data and category analytics.

Tracks and analyzes the impact of price adjustments, adjusting pricing strategies based on market dynamics, trends, and opportunities.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

Reviews internal pricing data to identify and execute pricing opportunities.

Takes initiative in identifying and resolving pricing and margin-related issues through collaboration with peers and leadership.

Leads the execution of end-of-life and seasonal markdowns for assigned product categories.

Communication & Reporting

Keeps leadership informed of critical developments, potential risks, and key opportunities related to pricing strategy.

Coordinates and communicates pricing plans and initiatives with relevant teams to ensure alignment and a cohesive approach.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you will bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required with a concentration in Business, Economics, or Mathematics preferred.
• 3+ years' experience in Pricing, Merchandising, Finance or analysis role.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to effectively gather data, analyze, summarize and make recommendations.
• Strong math aptitude including understanding components of financial analysis, margin and impact to P&L.
• Ability to react quickly to change, be flexible, and think critically.
• Strong organizational skills to effectively manage a variety of responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of company and vendor personnel.
• Excellent computer skills with strong abilities in Excel, SQL and PowerBi preferred.
• Experience working with pricing optimization software preferred.
• Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment's Core Competencies.

• Competitive Pay: Earn $66,700 to $96,210 annually, with your exact compensation personalized based on your skills, experience, and location. We believe in rewarding top talent with pay that reflects your value.
• Variable Pay: Variable pay is a component of compensation that can fluctuate based on performance, results, or specific metrics, rather than being a fixed amount like a salary. Annual bonus tied to company performance are paid annually. Incentive plans tied to an achievement-based outcome are generally paid monthly to quarterly.
  • The NTE AIP plan pay ranges from 5% to 100% of base salary. Eligibility is based on grade and roles that manage performance. Eligibility and payouts are outlined in the NTE AIP policy.
