BAE Systems is seeking a Cost Analyst with exceptional analytical skills to join the Supplier Cost Analyst team. As a Supplier Cost Analyst, you will analyze supplier cost proposals and provide recommended negotiation positions to Subcontracts/Procurement. Supplier Proposal Analyses must comply with Electronic Systems estimating system policies and guidance, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)/DFARs (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations), and Truthful Cost Pricing Data (TCPD) requirements. Additionally, you will support customer requests for information and audits of proposed material.

Job functions and duties will include the following:
Decompose supplier-provided proposals and Cost or Pricing Data into constituent estimating elements for analysis and determination of price reasonableness.

Perform indirect rate analysis and direct labor cost analysis to determine the reasonableness of supplier cost burdens applied to direct elements and develop a detailed rebuttal position.

Develop walk-down positions by cost element in order to establish summary conclusions and recommendations regarding supplier pricing and provide a basis for negotiations.

Conduct market research and price analysis to confirm the commerciality of a proposed part.

Participate in Continuous Improvement projects as needed to enhance the current proposal and Cost/Price analysis process.

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree preferably in a business, financial, or accounting discipline and four (4) year's work or equivalent experience or a Master's degree with two (2) years' experience.

  • Utilize analytical and computer skills, and various software packages to prepare appropriate reports and documents.
  • Support the analysis, evaluation, development, and implementation of process and system improvements within budget while adhering to strict time requirements and schedules.


Preferred Skills and Education

  • Experience in proposal preparation with a working knowledge of Project Finance, Contracts, or Subcontract Administration, and a working knowledge of Cost & Price Analysis for Department of Defense procurements.
  • A working understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) with an emphasis on FAR/DFAR compliant proposals.
  • Familiarity with Cost Accounting Standards, Contract Cost Principles and Procedures, and Accounting and Proposal preparation procedures.
