POSITION: Hampshire High School Principal
IMMEDIATE
SUPERVISOR: Superintendent
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT
TERM: 250 days
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code 18A-4-2, in accordance with Hampshire County Teacher Salary Schedule,
commensurate with experience and education level plus competitive benefits package
equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the superintendent in accordance with WV State Code
18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and HCBOE Evaluation Policy
JOB SUMMARY: The Principal is the "professional educator who functions as an agent of the county board and has responsibility for the supervision, management, and control of a school or schools within the guidelines established by the county board. The principal's major area of responsibility is the general supervision of the assigned school and all school activities involving students, teachers, and other school personnel." (Pursuant to WV Code 18A-1-1)

1. Demonstrates instructional leadership to enhance school effectiveness by improving instruction and augmenting student performance.
2. Provides purpose and direction for school.

- Master's Degree
- Hold, or is eligible for, a valid West Virginia administrative certificate at the appropriate programmatic level
- Complete of the WV Evaluation Leadership Institute
- Minimum five years successful teaching experience; preference for experience at the appropriate programmatic level
- Has been successful as an administrator
