We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Armys Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.
This position is onsite at our Manufacturing Technology Innovation Center located in Fort Worth, TX.
Principal Engineer Automation Manufacturing Innovation
The Principal Engineer Automation reports directly to the Manager Integrated Factory Systems at Bells Manufacturing Technology Center.The Principal Engineer Automation will work in a team environment to oversee the design, integration, and performance of Bells Manufacturing Technology Centers automation systems and processes. The Principal Engineer Automation collaborates with other automation engineers, R&D process engineers and manufacturing personnel in developing and advancing new automated solutions for Bells factories.
What youll be doing as a Principal Engineer Automation
- Team with other automation engineers in the design and implementation of automated solutions at Bells Manufacturing Innovation Center and collaborate with other Manufacturing Innovation R&D engineers to development and implement automated processes.
- Partner with external Automation Systems Integrators and Bell functional organizations to always assure fully functioning automation systems availability within the Manufacturing Technology Center and Bells manufacturing centers.
- Be a lead automation engineer and the point of contact for representing Manufacturing Innovation in collaborative automation initiatives within Bells manufacturing centers.
Skills You Bring To this Role
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and drive execution
- Excellent written and verbal skills and working in a teaming environment
- Experience with multiple PLC, CNC and HMI programming languages.
- Experience with hardware integration of multiple PLC, CNC and HMI hardware platforms into functional systems.
- Knowledgeable in the functional limitations of robots and controllers.
- Experience with the development, testing, integration and implementation of automated manufacturing processes.
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships to gain support and achieve results at all levels of the organization
What you need to be successful
- Bachelors degree in Engineering.
- Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
- Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Automation in a Manufacturing setting
