Ph.D. degree in an applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years' experience.

Registered Professional Engineer in Fire Protection.
Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) NICET Level III/IV certification in the Fire Alarm, Detection and Signaling area of expertise

SUMMARY:
- Define the scope of technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges that involve unique or controversial problems. Creatively meet all company and industry requirements and apply site systems to achieve quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Give quality guidance and assistance to less senior professionals on related tasks.
- Apply technical experience in the field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields to resolve complex problems.
- Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes, and complex coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.
- Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s} of technical knowledge.
- Provide direction and position responsibility both inside and outside department lines on programs seeking new approaches to problems and new applications of existing engineering or scientific principles.
- Evaluate the results of programs and prepare reports and recommendations based on these evaluations.
- Identify and recommend improvements where established technology components and methodology are inadequate for a solution.
- Keep informed of the advancement of technology as applied in one's area of technology.
- Prepare plans including schedules, budgets, and personnel requirements for solving technical tasks identified by management.

- Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. Primary responsibilities include engineering task analysis, walk-downs, design development, and generation of design output documents, including but not limited to: Location Plans, Connection Diagrams, Conduit/Block Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Panel Detail Drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, and Battery Loading Calculations, as per national consensus codes and standards.
- Provide technical support to site construction forces, start-up & testing, suppliers or subcontract personnel. Prepare Data Sheets, Statements of Work, Procurement Specifications, Design Build Specifications, and Purchase Requisitions.
- Engineering services shall be provided in accordance with SRNS processes and procedures. SRNS will provide programmatic guidance.
