General Summary:
Interfaces with internal engineering teams and external suppliers to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing. Communicates product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier's ability to meet engineering and quality requirements. Provides feedback on the functioning of supplier operation. Qualifies suppliers according to company standards to ensure compliance to quality requirements. Monitors devices from procurement through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur. Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices and quality standards are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance experience (e.g., quality analysis, audit) or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of Supplier Quality Assurance (e.g., quality analysis, audit, failure analysis) experience in semiconductor foundry and/or SAT industry or related work experience.
4+ years of experience with data mining in statistical software such as MS Office, 8D, SPC, FMEA etc.
4+ years of experience with quality metrics such as DPPM, yield, KPIs, etc.
4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
4+ years of experience with project management including managing schedules, identifying and mitigating risk, etc.
3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with executive leadership (e.g., Sr Director level and above).
1+ year in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports. (applies only to positions with direct reports).
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Leverages expertise when conducting formal root cause analysis to find the cause of supplier quality issues in products that may involve multiple groups or processes. Presents findings and reports analysis to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
Monitors analyses (i.e., failure mode effects analyses, physical failure analyses, duplication studies) of critical supplier issues and sees that all issues are adequately resolved. Anticipates supplier quality issues.
Leads the creation of strategies related to supplier KPIs to ensure the best interest of the customer and Qualcomm.
Leads efforts to maintain supplier quality and manufacturing for the production of new, highly strategic products to ensure they are driven to completion with high quality.
Influences the design, process selection, and inspection detection for new technologies.
Leads the audit process (i.e., quality audit, new product audit, quality issue audit) of supplier processes and operations, and creates strategies to ensure continuous supplier improvement.
Leads all actions and results related to audit findings to ensure all required action is executed and reports on the progress of supplier action to functional executives.
Provides timely and accurate answers to the most difficult customer inquiries and issues requiring cross-functional collaboration.
Develops continuous improvement plans across suppliers, technologies, and cross-functional teams to reduce quality issues and improve yield.
Level of Responsibility:
Working independently with no supervision.
Making decisions that are significant in impact, influencing overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to meet objectives; errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct.

$169,200.00 - $253,800.00
