Qualifications: Licensure - Principal Endorsement - in Illinois; instructional, organizational interpersonal, and leadership skills.

General Fuction: To support the Superintendent in the administration, organization, safety, supervision and educational leadership of Kennedy Elementary School.

Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrate experience and knowledge of best curriculum practices for respective grade levels in the school.
Supports progressive education ideals and practices in conjunction with 21st Century Learning principles.
Demonstrates commitment to student achievement, school improvement, and professional development.
Assist in development and implementation of activities that encourage students to be life-long learners.
Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior.
Support Superintendent in the efficient, effective operation of the school by directing the staff development and evaluation of employees; developing and administering the school budget; and implementing and interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations for effective day-to-day and long term operations.
Ensure compliance with all laws, administrative codes, Board policies and regulations.
Support Superintendent in collection and analysis data regarding the needs and achievement of students.
Establish the master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for students.
Supervise all personnel assigned to the building.
Implement safety and disaster preparedness procedures.
Communicate regularly with parents, seeking their support.
Assist in maintenance and accounting of all student activity funds and other funds.
Be involved with building/district leadership and case managers to determine who will serve as LEA representative at IEP meetings.
Support staff development opportunities for faculty, staff, and participate in professional growth.
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
