The Principal of North Shore Academy Elementary (NSAE) is responsible for developing and maintaining excellent educational services for students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. Provide the necessary educational leadership necessary to implement evidence based instructional strategies and educational, therapeutic approaches.
The Principal is also responsible for leading and supervising NSAE personnel, programs, and services including transportation, after school programs, service learning and mentor programs, organization and scheduling of the summer school program.

The Principal of North Shore Academy Elementary (NSAE) is responsible for developing and maintaining excellent educational services for students with behavioral and emotional disabilities. Provide the necessary educational leadership necessary to implement evidence based instructional strategies and educational, therapeutic approaches.
The Principal is also responsible for leading and supervising NSAE personnel, programs, and services including transportation, after school programs, service learning and mentor programs, organization and scheduling of the summer school program.

Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and implement a shared mission and vision, continuous improvement action plan and goals, and daily problem solving.
- Arrange for and facilitate student IEP meetings and student intake meetings
- Maintain ongoing relationships with member districts, parents, community providers, and staff regarding systems-change initiatives
- Assist with all budget planning related to NSAE, alongside the Executive Director of Instruction
- Assist in student transportation services
- Collaborate with all TrueNorth personnel
- Plan and conduct staff development presentations for NSAE staff, member districts, and community-based providers
- Apply knowledge of evidence based practices in instruction for students with emotional and autism spectrum disabilities
- Collaborate with colleagues, member district staff, community providers, and parents to share information and expertise related to evidence based practices for students with emotional and autism disabilities
- Utilize conflict resolution strategies and problem solving skills to address child, family, team or organizational issues
- Collaborate with community based services providers who serve NSAE students
- Provide leadership for the improvement of instruction, curriculum development, and professional development for NSAE
- Design and administer the educational programs and services at the NSAE
- Assist in the hiring of teachers, psychologists, social workers, teacher assistants, and other support personnel of NSAE
- Develop and supervise a comprehensive family support system within the program
- Serve as a member of the TrueNorth District SEL Leadership Team
- Provide leadership to member districts in the area of SEL
- Supervise and evaluate all personnel assigned to NSAE
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Master's Degree in special education or related field
- Illinois Professional Educator License with Principal or General Administrative endorsement
- Experience working in programs/services for students with emotional and behavior challenges
- Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Innovation
- Executive Director of Instruction
Compensation:
- Minimum starting salary $100,000
