Principal Process Engineer - Mining & Metallurgy

Type of position: Regular

Your future role on our teamYou will lead or participate in all phases of mining projects, fromprefeasibility studies to commissioning, to provide expertise and high-qualityconsulting services for our clients. You will be key member of ourmultidisciplinary team of expertise, carry out high-tech process simulationsand determine the equipment, tools and processes.

In addition, you will manage operational activities to support the department'sobjectives on project delivery, growth and development, quality and theemployee experience. As principal Engineer, you will participate in thepractice initiatives and foster a work environment where employees feel engagedand challenged.

• Workwith a team of skilled engineers, designers and project support staff todeliver projects on time, on budget and to the quality standards expected ofBBA
• Managea variety of cross-discipline teams to ensure cost effective, safe and timelycompletion of projects that meet or exceed client expectations
• Reviewand approve process plant material balance, process design criteria, PFD's,P&ID's, plant layouts, technical specifications and technical evaluations
• Prepareoperating cost evaluations
• Liaisewith clients on a technical level and present reports, publications andpresentations in a professional manner
• Managethe resource planning and assignment of work to team members
• Workwith employees to identify and schedule internal/external trainingopportunities
• Leadthe performance management process for team members
• Ensurethat all team members adhere to BBA's 10 Golden Rules for health & safetyand that this function is embedded within all the work that they do

Training component (15% of time)

• Planand manage internal meetings with team members and external meetings with otherstakeholders or subcontractors
• Workwith employees to identify and schedule internal/external trainingopportunities
• Ensurethat information circulates within the team and that members provideappropriate information, produced within the required timeframe
• Actas a mentor to young professionals within the group

Business Development component (5 to 10%of time)

• Developconstructive business relationships during project execution in order topromote repeat business
• Promotethe sale of cross-services to its existing clientele
• PromoteBBA's Mining and metal's services, both internally with colleagues andexternally with our clients and future clients

Corporate Component (5 to 10% of time)

• Participatein the development and implementation of the Mineral processing &Extractive Metallurgy Group's strategies, in collaboration with seniormanagement, to stimulate the development of the group
• Beinvolved in innovation, new service development and communication projects forthe Mineral processing & Extractive Metallurgy Group
• Supportthe Department Manager with change management and the communication ofcorporate initiatives

Overview of certifications and jobrequirements

• Bachelor'sdegree in engineering, in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or ChemicalEngineering
• Registeredas a Professional Engineer
• Overtwelve (12) years of experience in gold, copper, green energy materials(lithium, graphite, etc.) or base metal operations and/or design
• Generalareas of expertise include metallurgical test work planning/analysis, crushing,grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water treatment, gravity separation,pressure oxidation, heap leaching, CIL/CIP and electrowinning/refining
• Strongtrack record of successfully completed projects in the mining industry
• Availablefor occasional travel to domestic and international destinations
• Enthusiasmand capacity for business development and corporate growth
• Experiencewith Microsoft Office and process simulation software (e.g. METSIM, JKSimMet,Bruno, SysCAD, OLI)
• Experiencein feasibility studies and NI 43-101 reports
• ExcellentEnglish communication skills, both spoken and written (a second language ofFrench/Spanish is an asset)
• Asset:demonstrated ability to act as a Qualified person
• Asset:Knowledge of process control and optimization
• Asset:operations and/or consulting experience
• Asset:demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to complex metallurgicalproblems
