The pay range above represents the minimum and maximum rate for this position in California. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Salary range will vary for remote positions outside of California.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Principal Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects, programs consistent with company strategy, commitments, and goals. The individual in this role will work independently with business partners across the organization to implement large projects, programs as defined by company objectives, including, but not limited to business process improvements, new business solutions and implementations, regulatory initiatives, digital transformation programs. The Principal Project Manager must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects, programs under minimal direction, applying practical project management methodologies, skills, tools, and techniques to ensure delivery of value, quality outcomes on-schedule, on-budget. The Principal Project Manager is an experienced practitioner and champion of Project, Program Management practices in both traditional Waterfall methodology and Agile framework.

Work Schedule: Travel, work protracted and irregular hours and evening meetings, or work unusual hours for meeting attendance or participation in specific projects or programs.

Amount of Travel Required: 10%

Essential Functions Statements
Lead the planning and implementation of large, complex programs and multi-year transformation initiatives
Facilitate the definition of scope, goals, and deliverables
Define tasks and resource requirements.
Plan and schedule timelines.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Business, Computer Science, or related discipline.

Experience:
10 plus years experience in Project Management - Traditional & Agile (5+ years)
Healthcare experience preferred

Computer Skills: Advanced skills in MS Office Products, MS Project, Visio, Agile Team Collaboration Tools

Certifications & Licenses:
PMP or an equivalent project, program, portfolio management certifications
Agile Professional Certifications

Other Requirements:
Demonstrated application of and proven success of project management methodology, management tools, analysis and research tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools required.
Experience in coaching and mentoring project team members preferred.
Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix environment, communicating and influencing effectively at all levels of an organization required. Effective executive level presentation skills required.
Creative/resourceful problem-solving experience required.
