Purpose of the Position:
The Principal Research Engineer II serves as a SME in the research and development of directed energy projects in support of critical requirements relative to defense initiatives.
Duties/Responsibilities
Serves as research engineer in the directed energy labs supporting development of lasers and optics for Space and Missile Defense projects.
Research into new techniques for high energy lasers and alternatives to prototype and testing of new optics systems.
Integrates work into a directed energy team to improve capabilities and discover new opportunities in directed energy efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in Engineering or Physics with 12-15 months of full-time verifiable work experience or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience (minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree required).
Prior research in experience lasers, plasma, modeling, and characterization.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Desired Qualifications:
Capable of working within a team to accomplish pulsed laser and optical system development.
