About Saint Cecilia Catholic School
Saint Cecilia Catholic School (SCCS) is the largest ministry of the Saint Cecilia, Saint Olaf and Saint Peters Mission Parish Family. SCCS is a small, faith-filled Catholic school serving PreK-8th grade students. The school was established in 2001 and has a diverse student body with 105 enrolled students and 20 staff members. Approximately 60% of the student population is Catholic with 45% living on Bainbridge Island and the remainder commuting from various locations on the Kitsap Peninsula. SCCS currently has combined grades in 1/2, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8.
Rooted in the teachings of Christ, SCCS is dedicated to academic excellence while developing students spiritually, intellectually, and socially.

Position Overview
The Principal of Saint Cecilia Catholic School serves as the spiritual, educational, and administrative leader of the school, ensuring a Catholic identity rooted in the teachings of the Church. The Principal is responsible for fostering an environment that nurtures students' academic excellence and Catholic values, while collaborating with faculty, parents, and the parish community. As a strong and long-term supporter of Catholic schools, the Principal must demonstrate a deep understanding of both school and parish life, ensuring that the faith-based mission of the school is central to all aspects of its operation.

Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
  • Ensure that Catholic identity and faith formation are integrated throughout the school community.
  • Collaborate with the Pastor and parish to foster faith-based learning and Catholic social teachings.
  • Plan staff faith formation opportunities, such as retreats, to support the spiritual growth of faculty and staff.

Academic Leadership
  • Oversee curriculum development to ensure academic standards are met or exceeded.
  • Provide instructional leadership by supporting professional development, teacher evaluations, and mentoring using the CEL5D+ framework.
  • Ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning that addresses both academic and moral development.
Administrative Leadership
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Supervise and support faculty and staff to align with the school's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with the School Commission, Parent-Teacher Club, and community partners.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, including safety protocols and licensing for preschool programs.
  • Lead initiatives related to school marketing, enrollment management, and fundraising for long-term sustainability.
Community Engagement
  • Actively engage with parents, parishioners, and the broader community to support the mission of the school.
  • Maintain strong communication channels between school and home, ensuring parents are informed and involved.
  • Build partnerships with public and private institutions to leverage resources, including Title 1 & 2 funding and special education support from both BISD and NKSD.


Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church, with a deep commitment to Catholic education.
  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Administration, or related field.
  • Holds or is working toward a Washington State School Administrators Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with school accreditation processes and instructional leadership best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in fostering a collaborative, faith-centered school culture.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enrollment management, fundraising, and marketing in a Catholic school setting.
  • Experience with school accreditation processes through the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA).
  • Ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking families.


Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range: $105,000 - $140,000 (based on experience, qualifications, degrees and certifications).
