Principal Cloud Engineer
The Principal Systems Engineer provides support, implementation, and design services for Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, and Windows-based systems across the enterprise, including directory and identity management solutions. The individual in this role will appropriately complete assigned cases and change requests and will act as an escalation for support issues. This person will also help develop new solutions by means of research and collaboration with team members. Additionally, the person in this role will assist in migrating and implementing new AD connected software solutions as required by the business. The core infrastructure technology duties of this role include enterprise Microsoft Azure Cloud, Active Directory, and Azure Active Directory architecture creation and management, system security management and monitoring, policy configuration, and top-level support for enterprise-wide initiatives.

Principal Cloud Engineer

How You Will Contribute:
- Design cloud and hybrid solutions that run on Azure, including Compute, Networking, Storage, Monitoring, and Security
- Support daily operation of Microsoft Azure Active Directory and Windows Active Directory including administration and maximizing system performance
- Active Directory consolidations/migrations
- Group Policy design, management, and implementation
- Document current and proposed on-premises infrastructure and cloud environments by creating as-built documents and diagrams, in addition to maintaining current documentation for all related infrastructure as needed
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Nutanix, Azure/Hyper V, VMware), storage (Azure, HP, EMC)
- Automation of tasks via PowerShell and other technologies
- Understand best practices related to AD security, performance, hardware, networking, scripting, and backup and recovery
- Active Directory related DNS/DHCP design
- IP address management solutions (Microsoft IPAM, IT Glue)
- Manage and implement interfaces and links to external infrastructure and cloud environments (e.g., zone transfers, Azure synchronization service, forwarding).
- Maintain Active Directory environment by monitoring and managing the health of all AD related infrastructure and services, and by running routine Active Directory health checks
- Respond to incidents and requests according to departmental SLAs including escalated issues by executing through to completion or escalating when appropriate
- Perform installation and configuration management of systems and applications (PRTG/Solarwinds)
- Communicate and delegate work to team members and direct reports.
- DFS design and management
- Patch management
What it takes:
- Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Minimum of ten-years of in-depth, hands-on experience working with cloud-based architecture, AD domains and forests and Azure AD
- In depth understanding of Azure and Cloud security capabilities and best practices
- Experience supporting both HP/Dell server and storage platforms
- Working knowledge of Windows Server 2012, 2016 and higher
- Experience working in enterprise environments with an understanding of ITIL process and functions
- Azure certification - Azure Fundamentals, Azure administrator associate or better
