Summary
The Principal, Workplace Consulting role is responsible for leading and setting the direction of the Workplace Solutions business unit, including leadership, defining the strategy, development of the workplace consulting toolkit, and growing the P&L to align with the business growth strategy. This role creates workplaces that inspire, connect, and support our clients' workspaces and beyond. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of how people work, reflecting values, culture, and a commitment to excellence. This role is an enterprise leader, that is client facing and leads a team of professionals at Cresa. Reporting to and working closely with the President of Cresa Project Management, sets the strategic direction for the function and translates this strategy into specific business objectives to support the growth of the business. The role may be located in any major city in the U.S.

Essential duties and responsibilities
- Define the strategy and develop the tools for Workplace Consulting to include the various segments of the workplace consulting practice: office design, culture strategy, work model transition (hybrid, remote or in-office models), internal communication, mental health, crisis prevention and response, and digital workplace experience and other workplace areas as needed.
- Provide and cultivate forward thinking, industry thought leadership on Workplace with a point of view on trends, best practices, and strategies, through both written and public speaking opportunities to help reinforce the strong Cresa brand with occupiers of work space.
- Find and develop new client relationships to help grow and diversify Cresa's strategy, is critical to the success of this position.
- Manage and help grow existing client relationships in coordination with the Cresa point of contacts for the clients.
- Lead the training and adoption of the Workplace process and tools with market brokers and project managers so that is in every client presentation.
- Manage multiple concurrent Workplace Solutions projects across a geographically diverse real estate portfolio.
- Provide appropriate levels of detail and be able to summarize complex issues succinctly.
- Analyze client needs and develop strategies and tools to enhance and evolve the workplace.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment of goals with business needs.
- Facilitate regular communication and updates to leadership, addressing risks and opportunities.
- Lead change management and communications process to help bring adoption of strategies to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Create clarity for teams, bridge relationships with internal and external clients.
- Manage an existing 3+ person team, develop a fully functioning team to align with the Workplace and P&L growth strategy. This will include full employee lifecycle (selection, development, promotion and exit) as needed for the success of Workplace Consulting team.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
Qualifications
- Strong commercial real estate (CRE) background including experience working with brokerage, project management and workplace consulting professionals.
- Deep understanding of how the CRE industry transacts, develops and manages the space requirements for clients.
- Be a thought leader with the ability to adapt to changing demands and anticipate future needs, be ahead of trends, understand the business landscape.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and executing a workplace consulting strategy with tactical tools for execution.
- Corporate services background preferred.
- Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and team members.
- Has successfully led and grown a team of professionals.
- Team player, who can balance and prioritize multiple stakeholder requirements.
- Good person with high moral integrity.
Education/Experience
- 15+ years of experience in CRE Workplace Consulting or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Effectiveness, Change Management, Architecture/Space Planning, the Built Environment
- ProSci certification in Change Management preferred
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations
- Strong problem solver and facilitator, especially in highly ambiguous situations
