Reports to: Superintendent

Supervises: All individuals serving in the assigned school which may include
  • Associate/Assistant Principals
  • Teaching and other professional staff
  • Paraprofessionals and other support staff
  • Other resource and service personnel while functioning in the assigned school

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or higher with a major in Educational Administration from an accredited institution
  • Valid credentials to practice as a school principal in the State of Illinois
  • Five years of teaching experience; Pre-K - 8 experience preferred

  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Assumes responsibility for the implementation and observance of all Board of Education policies and procedures by school staff and students.
    • Assists in the preparation of the school budget and manages the portion of the budget assigned to his/her building.
    • Attends special events to recognize student achievement and other school-sponsored activities, functions and athletic events.
    • Keeps the superintendent informed of the school's activities and problems.
    • Attends Administrative Council and Instructional Leaders meetings and other meetings as are required or appropriate.

    Terms of Employment

    Salary and work year will be established by the Board of Education.

    Evaluation

    Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with state laws.
