Business Overview:

NB Private Markets is leading private equity platform within Neuberger Berman with over $125 billion of assets under management. NB Private Markets continues to grow rapidly and is actively investing. As a Private Equity Analyst on the investment team, the focus will be working across the platform on the following complementary strategies:
  • Private Investment Portfolios: Creating customized investment portfolios of private equity funds within multiple asset classes, including large and mid cap buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, and distressed investments
  • Direct Co-Investments: Building a diversified portfolio of direct private equity investments by co-investing in private companies alongside premier private equity sponsors


Position Overview:

The position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across NB Private Markets' private equity platform in the areas listed above in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with constant interaction with the most senior members of the team. In addition to these existing funds, the group manages other private equity-related fund strategies and products

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conducting due diligence on potential primary fund investments and co-investment opportunities, including: i) meeting with fund managers in Fund and Co-Investment opportunities, ii) performing quantitative and qualitative company and industry research, and iii) preparing investment memoranda to be presented to Neuberger Berman's Investment Committee
  • Managing deal log and performing deal monitoring analysis
  • Supporting fund marketing and existing client requests
  • Participating in special projects such as product development and asset allocation analyses


Experience & Skills Qualifications:
  • Candidates with 0-2 years of work experience (e.g. corporate finance, private equity, investment banking, management consulting) or May 2025 Bachelor's degree candidates with excellent academic credentials (Undergraduate GPA of 3.6 or higher)
  • Strong foundations in corporate finance and accounting with demonstrated knowledge of financial principles
  • Exceptional quantitative abilities, including hands-on experience with financial modeling and valuation analyses
  • Strong critical thinking, judgment, and communication skills, with the ability to present ideas effectively in both written and verbal formats
  • Creative problem-solving ability, showing initiative in conducting research, analyzing data, and collaborating with others to develop actionable solutions
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with thorough attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative team-player attitude, with enthusiasm to contribute across a diverse range of projects and assignments


Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$100,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
