Job Summary
The Process & Utilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for oversight of day-to-day operations of all power plant equipment including steam boilers, ammonia refrigeration system, compressed air system, plant water system, Co2 system as well as maintenance responsibilities for all liquid processing areas and facilities. This position requires a high level of technical competence regarding power plant, utilities, ammonia refrigeration systems, facilities and process maintenance.

This position requires a high level of technical competence regarding power plant, utilities, ammonia refrigeration systems, facilities and process maintenance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and support procedures for the efficient maintenance of Brewing, Batching, Warehousing, Facilities, and Power Plant.
- Effectively implement and monitor program for the operation of the Utilities, Water treatment, Ammonia systems and Power Plant, including timely communication of results.
- Maintain and improve a preventive maintenance system (CMMS)
- Development of Mechanical specifications for the preparation of P&ID's, and P&ID database, such as numbering, tagging, graphical symbols, etc.
- Definition of mechanical design conditions for equipment and piping components, which include the design and sizing of safety relief valves, and Cv calculations of control valves.
- Generate the first material take off for piping and valves when required
- Submit complete financial justifications for proposed equipment or other process-related capital.
- Oversee projects and operations to ensure requirements are met within established budget and timeframes.
- Develop, implement and provide oversight of projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Effectively troubleshoot causes for deviations from specifications from the regulatory agenda and effectively communicate with the appropriate regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Process Safety Management program.
- Manage the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of departmental Continuous Improvement projects.
- Communicate effectively with other Department Heads regarding Process Maintenance Department issues.
- Ensure that departmental practice meets Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Effectively manage and motivate a work force of hourly and staff employees to ensure a cost-effective allocation of departmental labor.
- Provide for staff and personal training as needed in a learning organization.
- Responsible for subordinate development including training and counseling. Interview and selection of candidates for positions within the department.
- Interface with, and manage, project specific contractors when required.

- Cooperatively work with other Managers/ Supervisors by not placing his/her own department above the needs of the company as a whole.
- Develop and improve manufacturing methods for the production of product. This may include the selection, specification or machinery design/redesign to achieve the stated objective. It may also meanchanges of production methods.
- Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
- College graduate with four-year engineering or relevant degree, including courses with manufacturing focus.
- 3 to 5 years' experience in a managerial capacity with Power Plant oversight preferable in the Food or Beverage Industry.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management, preferable with regard to Ammonia Systems.
- Must be able to work alone and be able to provide a hands-on approach to own problem solving.
- Demonstrated motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to adopt and express a view that may differ from that of organizational leadership
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task under continuously changing business priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong Mathematical/Analytical Skills
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
- Position calls for self-motivated, self-directed person with broad general knowledge
