Process Engineer
Job Summary
The position is responsible for processing, cost, and quality level of tires released to mass production by the R&D/PI Group. Will work closely with all groups in the Plant to ensure the proper design, installation, modification and maintenance of new and existing equipment, and compliance with all safety, environmental and other regulatory requirements. Will be responsible for providing innovative and expert solutions, along with excellent service in order to improve efficiency, reduce cost and maintain sustainability in the tire assembly area.
Essential Duties & Functions
Track and analyze process metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to improve productivity and reduce cycle time and scrap
Develop Process FMEA and SOP
Perform root cause analysis for process and quality issues
Implement Corrective and Preventive actions
Train production associates when needed
Review and disposition of non-conforming components
Will require at least 50% of time on the floor working with operators, supervisors and maintenance leads to resolve issues and learn what needs fixed in the "process"
The other 50% of time fixing the "process", checking data and doing projects
Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output
Perform other duties of equal or less complexity as assigned or directed by management
Follow company policies as required
Engage and retain high-performance standards and elevate level of responsibility and performance
Skills/Qualifications
Proven work experience in process engineering
Excellent technical and computer skills
Knowledge of process related standards
Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Must be comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment
Must be detail oriented, while managing multiple, complex tasks
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may or may not have supervisory responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or above, majored in Engineering
Minimum of 1 internship is required/ Entry level is encouraged to apply
Specific experience in tire manufacturing processes desired is a plus
Proven working experience in process engineering is a plus
