Position Title: Process Engineer

Plant Location: Bath, PA

About the Role:

Keystone Cement Company is seeking a Process Engineer responsible for providing process related data and technical support to operations and assistance to other areas of the plant. This position reports to the Production Manager and works with production, Lab, and other staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and comply with all safety regulations, identify and correct safety hazards, participate in regular safety training, safety topic meetings and task training, and cooperate with all external inspectors as necessary.
  • Gather, interpret, and evaluate data to achieve plant optimization.
  • Identify and resolve process problems, evaluating performance data, and setting process guidelines.
  • Keep current on technological developments. Participate in process and environmental planning, development, and implementation of projects.
  • Respond to process concerns of production personnel to identify and resolve process problems. Assist in operational trouble shooting and equipment optimization. Provide input to production personnel regarding operational variances, corrections, and guidelines. Provide process related training to plant personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise process trials, field and lab measurements, and all other activities related to process investigations.
  • Perform process calculations utilizing methods of material and heat balances involving concepts of chemistry, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and other sound engineering and scientific theory.
  • Provide support to quality control, maintenance, environmental, and computer instrumentation personnel on process related issues. Participate in technical information exchange within the company.
  • Review emissions data and follow-up with environmental personnel.
  • Maintain a working proficiency with the SAP system for purchasing, production, and maintenance procedures.

Requirements:
  • B.S degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred).
  • Preferred one to three years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Able to successfully interact in a team environment.
  • Practical knowledge of cement manufacturing equipment and operations. Pre-heater/pre-calciner experience.
  • Able to physically inspect properties where climbing steps (including catwalks) and ladders, physical exertion, high elevations, and walking over rough surfaces is required,
  • Able to wear all required MSHA safety equipment.
  • Able to work in and exposure to dust, noise, extreme heat, and all types of weather conditions).
  • Proper wear and use of respirator, where required.
