Job Description
The Process Engineer will be assigned a specific area within the plant and will be responsible for troubleshooting, process improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on capital projects. They will focus on debottlenecking current manufacturing processes through the optimization of existing equipment, improved use of resources, or the acquisition of new technology and equipment.
Responsibilities
This role is based in a production and R&D facility, specifically a chemical plant. The work environment is stable, with little turnover and no layoffs since a recent acquisition. The company offers an 11% bonus potential based on personal and company performance, relocation assistance with a lump sum payment up to $15k on the first paycheck (taxable).

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Job Description
The Process Engineer will be assigned a specific area within the plant and will be responsible for troubleshooting, process improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on capital projects. They will focus on debottlenecking current manufacturing processes through the optimization of existing equipment, improved use of resources, or the acquisition of new technology and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of flow sheet designs, technical evaluation of equipment, conduct plant evaluations, and commission new manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and solve existing manufacturing and quality problems to improve uptime and first-time prime quality.
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications, arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
- Evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.
- Procure materials needed to construct prototypes and supervise the design engineering of new models.
- Test the ability of machines to perform designated tasks.
- Develop models of alternate processing methods to test the feasibility of new applications of system components and recommend improved procedures.
- Analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
- Analyze, evaluate, and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes.
- Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.

- BS in Process Technology, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of related experience in an engineering support department
- Good communication skills for customer interaction
- Onsite plant experience with daily exposure to manufacturing processes
- Go-getter personality
- Experience in chemical engineering, industrial minerals, specialty chemicals
- Experience with project commissioning
- Knowledge of Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) is a plus
