Hire Type: Direct Hire

Target Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000/year

Job Summary:

This role plays a critical role in developing and scaling cosmetic products. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and advancing both new and existing processes involved in the formulation and manufacturing of high-performance cosmetic products. These processes may include both wet processes (emulsions, single-phase products, dispersions, etc.) and dry processes (loose and pressed powders), among others. As part of the R&D team, this person will serve as the liason between the formulation chemist and bulk manufacturing.

Job Duties:
  • Design, optimize, and scale up key unit processes for cosmetic product manufacturing, focusing on enhancing product quality, performance, and production efficiency.
  • Work closely with product development, R&D, and manufacturing teams to integrate novel processes and technologies into large-scale production, with an emphasis on UV protection (SPF) formulation.
  • Conduct advanced research to continuously improve SPF technology integration and formulate cutting-edge cosmetic products that meet market trends and consumer needs.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance, identifying areas for optimization, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to maintain high-quality product output.
  • Ensure all processes comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols, especially in the cosmetic and skincare sectors.
  • Maintain detailed records of processes, formulations, and procedural modifications to ensure proper documentation and traceability.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process scale-up, preferably within the cosmetics, food, or pharmaceutical industries. Beauty Industry or Personal Care experience is a big plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and process optimization.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and market demands in the beauty industry.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-growing environment.
