With your talent and ambition, we can do even more to protect people from infectious diseases and bring hope to patients and their families.

Join our Bioprocess Modeling Team within the MSAT organization, where we drive innovation and excellence in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Our team supports critical decision-making throughout the product lifecycle, from cost-of-goods simulations to manufacturing capacity analysis and facility debottlenecking. We are committed to optimizing processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Process Modeling Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will create and utilize advanced process models to enhance our manufacturing operations. Your work will be instrumental in identifying bottlenecks, optimizing plant capacity, and supporting the design of new processes and facilities.

We are an innovative global healthcare company with one purpose: to chase the miracles of science to improve people's lives. We're also a company where you can flourish and grow your career, with countless opportunities to explore, make connections with people, and stretch the limits of what you thought was possible. Ready to get started?

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with manufacturing sites to understand process flows, material balances, cycle times, resource requirements, and key constraints.
  • Develop process models to quantify plant capacity, identify bottlenecks, and simulate debottlenecking opportunities.
  • Support the design of new processes and facilities by translating small-scale development data into commercial manufacturing process flows and equipment scaling.
  • Perform fit/feasibility analyses to facilitate the transfer of new processes into manufacturing.
  • Develop business cases for second-generation manufacturing processes and the implementation of new technologies.
  • Work with process development teams in CMC-Development and MSAT to define process targets that achieve desired cost-of-goods, capacity, facility fit, and eco-design goals.

About You

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required.
  • A master's degree in the above discipline is preferred.
  • 10+ years' experience in the process engineering field within the biopharmaceutical industry with a focus in modeling.
  • Extensive experience in schedule optimization tools (e.g., VirtECS), discrete event simulators (e.g., SchedulePro), or similar modeling tools required.
  • Experience in computer programming to solve complex engineering problems preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis tools (e.g., ROI, NPV) and Monte Carlo analysis preferred.
  • Strong technical report writing skills required.

Soft Skills:
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for using data and computer models to solve complex problems.
  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment with diverse groups, including Manufacturing, MSAT, CMC, Global Strategy, Supply Chain, and Finance.
  • Effective at leading project teams and interfacing with customers and operations personnel.
