We are hiring a Process Safety Technology Leader (PSTL).
This role is responsible for the management, development and application of technology, management systems, and hazard assessment tools designed to protect people, property, and the environment by controlling the risks of unplanned process safety events such as fires, explosions, and chemical releases.
This role has the business stewardship responsibility to assure that all process safety technology, management systems and hazard assessment tools are appropriately applied. This role is the primary process safety leader for the Shelter Line of Business.
This role partners with Plant Managers and other Manufacturing Technology roles to provide Process Safety Management (PSM) support for the 13 Shelter manufacturing sites and ensures that plant and project PHA Reviews are effective in addressing process safety risks.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Accountable for PSM related activities at the Shelter sites (e.g., Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), and Process Technology). Includes the development and implementation of strategies that result in compliance with internal and external PSM requirements. Ensure plant processes are effective for PSM element compliance.
- Provides PSM mentoring across the Shelter Line of Business. Collaborates with Plant Managers to ensure that Process Safety training for personnel within the business has been implemented. Collaborates in DuPont corporate PSM networks.
- Provides Process Safety expertise for Management of Change (MOC), including approvals as a Process Safety functional reviewer.
- Participates in Process Safety Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for incidents and near misses as aligned with Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) trigger criteria. Develops recommendations and ensures learnings are captured and communicated across the organization to prevent future occurrences.
- Ensure Plant and Project PHA Reviews are effective and assists with the development of recommendations for addressing process safety issues.
- Ensure the Process Technology area aligns to corporate requirements and develops plans and priorities to meet/achieve/exceed the corporate and business objectives. Leverage in, and influence changes to DuPont Center of Excellence (COE) standards and guidelines as appropriate.
- Ensures PSM metric reporting is completed in line with corporate DuPont requirements.
This role is one of the key approver roles for any PSM extensions and facilitates getting approval requests, including:
- Approve PSM aspects for the Process Technology and strategies for implementation of PSM initiatives.
- Approve Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) protection layers, compliance plans, and variances.
- Approve Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) and ensure they are completed on time. Decide on appropriate solutions for addressing Process Safety deficiencies identified in these reviews.
- Approve PSM requirements, recommendations, and action plans, including timing for implementation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent (Chemical Engineering preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Expert knowledge and experience in Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation).
- Expert knowledge of Process Safety tools such as PHA's, LOPA analysis, as well as RAGAGEP.
- Demonstrated influential leadership to lead and mentor others.
- Able to travel to supported plants (up to 25% of time)
- Working knowledge of the Shelter technologies, Process Automation & Process Engineering, including Safety Instrumented Systems/Functions (SIS/SIF)
- Organizational skills - Having and using the knowledge of our organization's systems, procedures, and culture to identify issues and/or opportunities and act on them in a way that meets the needs of customers and magnifies your impact.
