Purpose:
- Support the VP Procurement North America in the successful operational delivery of the framework to support the overall procurement strategy.
- Develop and implement commercial sourcing strategies to maximise value while ensuring the right level of governance and risk management for own areas of responsibility
- Undertake effective tendering, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationships.
- Evaluate external spend in terms of risk, value and cost.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues ensuring procure to pay processes and policies are operating effectively.
- Manage supplier relationships to drive overall best value for Drax working closely with Supplier Relationship and Procurement Performance team/s

This is a Drax North America focused role:
- # Employees: 3,000
- Stakeholders: Regular comms and good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Procurement spend is circa CAN $350m spend (Opex and Capex), 1000+ suppliers, US $500m (Opex and Capex) 500+ suppliers
- This role will manage individual supplier spend circa $10m annually
Key Accountabilities:
- Plan, manage and deliver strategic sourcing initiatives locally for Opex and Capex spend to support delivery of the required business strategies. Ensure early procurement engagement from business stakeholders
- Achieve agreed cost savings and non-financial targets to support Drax business strategy.
- Manage tender processes from specification/need identification through to contract award ensuring good Procure to Pay (P2P) regimes following contract award.
- Responsible for meeting key project procurement strategy milestones and delivering against mutually agreed timeframes and plans.
- Ensure compliance with relevant governance, regulatory requirements and legislation at all times.
- Providing advice and guidance where relevant to ensure best practice within the business.
- Ensure that sustainability (environmental, economic and social) risks and opportunities within the supply chain are part of overall decision-making process
- Supporting stakeholders with management of budgets and working closely with finance teams to support annual budgeting process.
- Provide valuable input into the procurement business plan annually
- Work with internal stakeholders to carefully manage the resulting cost base, performance and 3rd party relationships.
- Work closely with Procurement performance team to ensure data and reporting including monitoring external industry developments are effectively utilised.
- Lead, motivate, train and develop staff under own leadership and across the team to develop a highly capable team that consistently performs to a high level.
- Ensure own and teams high quality performance through mentoring and feedback
- Identifies and implements development opportunities for DR's and other procurement colleagues

- World CC certification (previously IACCM) will be supported within role
