Procurement Manager

Torani is a purpose driven, people focused company with a passion for flavoring beverages across the globe. For almost 100 years we've been reimagining how to flavor beverages and we're looking for our next Manager of Procurement to bring our growing business to new heights by utilizing your experience and network to oversee the timely procurement and delivery of materials for the start-up of our new sauce production facility. Sourcing, negotiating, and buying is second nature to you and your strategic partnerships with our suppliers will enable us to deliver world-class flavor around to all our customers.

Acting as our internal expert on dairy and other key commodities, your leadership is elevating our Procurement team to the next stage of development as you support and enable growth. Your effectiveness working across the organization and with external partners has accelerated the reputation of the Torani procurement team as a GREAT partner to work with.

SUCCESS FACTORS (first 12-18 months)
  • Strategy Implementation Champion: You leveraged your expertise with commodity purchasing to translate our strategic vision into a procurement tactical plan that supports the implementation of new production capability at our Flavor Factory. You have engaged the procurement team and enlisted the support of all cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to secure the successful start-up of our sauce production. You've ensured all partners understand the role they play in achieving our long-term success.
  • Strategic Supplier Partnerships: You have built lasting strategic supplier relationships fostered by robust two-way communication, periodic business reviews and standardized scorecards that enable collaboration and win-win propositions. You have effectively secured master supply agreements with key strategic partners and successfully negotiated terms advantageous to Torani and our suppliers. Your negotiating style supports Torani's core value of caring deeply for people and community and in turn we have a reliable and timely supply network for all our ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Risk Management: You have carefully identified and proactively managed ingredient shelf-life to avoid production interruptions and waste. You have routinely shared short and long-term demand with all suppliers and used your knowledge of perishables to establish robust contingency plans in partnership with planning and production stakeholders. Secondary suppliers have been qualified where needed to mitigate business continuity risks.
  • Continuous Improvement + Innovation: You collaborated with cross-functional team members to understand and support innovation efforts. In collaboration with our R&D team, you have partnered and found suppliers capable of developing and delivering ingredients and packaging materials that exceed consumer expectations. You consistently prioritize enhancing the quality of our materials, and ensuring supply is secured in time to meet testing and in-market milestones, all the while considering initiatives aimed at improving margins and reducing costs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • 5+ years of ingredients & packaging procurement experience
  • Experience in developing and driving supplier relationships, quality programs and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience with purchasing dairy and other commodity ingredients.
  • Expertise in managing and negotiating supplier contracts.
  • Deep understanding of sourcing and procurement best practices that support supplier assessment, qualification, and ongoing management review process.
  • Proven success negotiating complex business agreements and bringing them to close and building value for both the company and the supplier over time.
  • Demonstrated background of cross-functional collaboration, strong interpersonal, networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Prior experience with planning and inventory software- i.e. Arkieva, Oracle.

Salary Range: $123,803 - $137,559
